Marco Cristovam

Blacksmith Artist | Keeper of Tradition

Marco Cristovam is a blacksmith artist devoted to the timeless craft of shaping metal by hand. His work is rooted in tradition but driven by imagination — each piece he creates is a story forged in fire.

His journey began in 1999 in the Algarve, Portugal, where he apprenticed under master blacksmiths Adam Varley and Beau McClellan. What started as curiosity soon became a calling. He fell in love with the rhythm of the forge, the beauty of transformation, and the quiet power of working with fire and steel.

After five years of apprenticeship, he embarked on the traditional path known as the “journement” — a seven-year journey to deepen his craft by working with blacksmiths across Europe. Based in Germany, he had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned masters and participate in public and private projects in cities such as London, Kolbermoor, and Marburg.

In 2004, he realised he was among the last remaining blacksmith apprentices in Portugal. That moment ignited a personal mission: to preserve and pass on this endangered art form. Since then, he has represented Portugal in international blacksmithing events and created sculptural works for public institutions, including the municipalities of Faro, Almancil, and Loulé.

In 2010, he returned to Portugal, where he continues to design and forge custom pieces. His work is inspired by nature, memory, and emotion — and shaped with care to carry meaning, beauty, and presence. Whether it’s a sculpture, a gate, or a piece of functional art, Marco believes every creation should reflect the spirit of its maker and leave a lasting impression.

“Art is not in the object — it’s in the transformation, the hands that shape it, and the soul it carries.”

Crestin Razvan

Sculptor | Shaping Essence

With a degree in Sculpture, completed in 2017 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and a career enriched by diverse and meaningful experiences, Razvan Crestin is an artist and craftsman dedicated to creating unique works in sculpture and artistic metalwork.

Inspired by great masters such as the Romanian sculptor Constantin BrâncuÈ™i—whose roots and history he shares—Razvan embraces a creative process that explores simplicity and purity of form.

BrâncuÈ™i once said that true art is that which reaches its essence, and this philosophy resonates deeply in Razvan Crestin’s work. Each project is a continuous pursuit of harmony and elegance in form, whether in monumental works or delicate decorative objects. BrâncuÈ™i’s influence can be felt not only in the aesthetic but also in the approach of treating each piece as a reflection of nature and culture, always with close attention to the needs and environment of the work's intended space.

Throughout his career, Razvan has actively participated in large-scale projects, including the construction of monuments and numerous sculptural works that enhance private spaces.
